So you are trying to prove yourself as the true originator of the NYC lumberjack look Mr. Adams?

Bro- It was the '80s. I was a park ranger. Do the math.

Nice picture. Nice duffel coat. Is that a detachable hood I see? I would be very happy to detach mine for good. It's pretty useless.

Kind of nostalgic with the towers in the background.

well curated authentic heritage Americana at it's best. For a while, I was beginning to think the hipsters had even invented beards. Thanks for dispelling that myth, too.

Horn toggle duffel - an absolute timeless classic. Wear one and you are never, ever cold. Attach or detach the hood. Didn't you once post a shot of Trevor Howard wearing one in The Third Man?

Damn nice duffel coat....do you still have it?

I don't think I have any shots of me accompanied by my nation's flag. I should probably do something about that.

Quite nifty there, Tintin. I have pictures of me in 1985, but I was quite a bit smaller then...

Great coat...had one in high school, circa 1966. My mother bought it at Macy's and I wore it through hs and college and beyond. It was only after I, cough, cough gained a few pounds and it no longer fit that I donated it.

So what I hear G saying is that perhaps tintin was/is the original hipster?

Most days I'm just trying to feel the way you look in this photo.

Ah, the Gloverall Toggle. I had that exact coat but, unfortunately, I set it down one day and, ZOINK, it was gone. -Guess someone else appreciated it as much as I did.

Flo- If I did, and I don't, I wouldn't be able to get my fat butt in it.

Bro - You're always complaining.

Lwing- Hood did not detach. Brooksgate coat. Cheaper than Brooks Brothers but still UK made (I think). Not many options and no lining. The BB version had a detachable hood with tartan lining.

Kathy- It is.

Giusseppe- "well curated authentic heritage Americana at it's best." You working for GQ?

DB- You remembered! http://thetrad.blogspot.com/2009/12/ww-ii-duffle-coat.html

Main Line- Long gone. I'd say 40 pounds ago.

Alice- Your country has a flag?

Kionon- Ultrasound?

Anon- Cough, cough. I hear ya.

gent mac- Who knows what G is saying. I don't think G knows what he's saying.

Glengarry Sporting Club- I remember exactly how I was feeling that morning. Cold, horny and poor. Some things never change.

zambo- The good stuff never gets old. Just the people wearing it.

Trailer Trad- Ouch. Get another one. Go on ebay UK and do a search for WWII vintage. Cheap but the shipping is pricey.
