Much of this looks extremely familiar, as I was a sophomore in the spring of '83. Not at an Ivy school, sadly, but just across the river from one.

Bugles and bubbly on the Yard. Nice to know that sort of miscuing went on at schools other than mine. Chalk it up to the student budget.

Harvard kid smiling 'cause he just found out he could get a full share for the Summer at the house in Provincetown

Princeton evidently had male Hooter guys in the 80's

3rd panel left:Androgeny!

4th panel left:"EEEEww Carter, I told you not to wear your white boxers out on the quad!"

7th panel: Sadly, Wicker was the only one of the Alpha Chi Ro pledges who could not handle his drink...and he passed out on the steps on the way home from a "Line-up" at the Chapter house.

Last panel: Professor Simpson of the Classics Dept. was angry...Very angry, that someone had pinched his Schwinn.

Another great post. Source?
Great details-
From Princeton, panel 1:
Fortunately, athletic shorts have improved with time. Here, baggier is better. Stan Smiths with madras and OCBD, could have been me.
Panel 2:
Prep androgeny. Penn crew jersey which he hopefully won fair and square.
Panel 4:
Just the way I remember girls on my campus. Girls wear Tretorns better.
Panel 7:
Smoking has likely been outlawed on the Princeton campus at this point.

It's so nice to look back at a time when people could be casual without wearing pajamas! And not a 'Tramp Stamp' in sight!

Now, the only people who wear ties on college campuses are anachronistic professors and students on their way to a job fair or mock trial.

It's a shame. Young men look nice in ties, even if sloppy reflecting a contumacious attitude. They look silly in baggy jeans and Air Jordans.

Nice post. As you might have guessed I'm a sucker for these kinds of images. The Wallabees and athletic socks - Tretorns and no socks is a very nostalgic reminder of younger days. Are these from M?

I remember in the spring of 78, lying out in a bikini on the lawn above the Princeton tennis courts. It was brown. The bikini I mean.

Oh boy, in 1983, I had the rugby shirt/skirt/tretorn outfit and sadly, still do......

How cool is the last gent? That guy knew how to live; you can just tell.

This was early high school for me. But very, very soon, I would start receiving catalogs Esprit which would help me to emulate Molly Ringwald's look in "Sixteen Candles."
