Anonymous said...: Modern living through chemistry! I don't know if Aqua Velva or Hai Karate are in there, but it's enough to strike terror in any boomer's heart. Back then, the "cult of the man" was being played out in the last gasps of bad colognes and bad ads for them (Mad Men, anyone?). Women's Lib and the Beatles' influence was taking rapid hold, and cologne disappeared overnight for a whole generation...

Ben said...: My dad went through a wet look phase in the early 70s and he used Groom N Clean. Disinclined to throw things he's paid for away, I bet he's still got that nasty shriveled up aluminum tube under the sink at home.

Spalding said...: There is some great stuff in those pictures, on page two alone I see Knize (so Vienna old School), Habit Rouge, the full line of Caswell Massey, Royal Lime (still spold ar BB's, Roger and Gallet Jean arie Farina.
On page one there are four Dunhills, a Hermes (eau I think),4711 and 4711.
