Style Council: Nautical Flag Trousers
Nautical Flag Trousers - Two days left to bid here on eBay
I could fit in these -- Maybe 10 years ago. Even then, barely. I was thinking of buying 'em anyway. Just so I could look at 'em in the closet. No bids so far. If you're a 34"/30", you'd be crazy not to. Update: Nautical Trou make $169.50 via eight bids.
Of course, if Paul Weller could do this video in the '80s, you could certainly wear these pants. No matter, uh...what you do.

thick waist line aside, you need thick(er) skin to wear these.
They'll look a little out of place in El Paso.
I thought I saw the Ciudad Juarez burgee on there somewhere.
el paso, dallas, same difference.
you are quick to point out geographical information when getting comments outside of the predictable "love this image" range.
Amatourist- Good one.
Dallas - I was gonna use Amarillo instead but I lived in El Paso and know for a fact that there's little nautical themed sportswear there.
You know the Time, Place & Occasion rule? No bolo ties on a sail boat. No topsiders in the stirrups.
know it well.
have you seen home from the hill? saw it for the first time last night. you may enjoy it.
Saw it on TCM. Caught the last hour. I always like George Peppard. The Blue Max is a fave.
Can't comment on the pants, but that Style Council song really brings back good memories. In the video they're punting on the river Cam in Cambridge.
The Singlular Adventures of the Style Council, with soul singer Dee C. Lee...Perfection.

Home from the Hill..great film...wondeful cinematogrophy...Mitchum is a classic role here...cited in on my Blog ages ago...a true sportsman's film.
Thise pants should be cut into strips and made into ribbon belts and maybe a few watchbands.
I dunno - I think most guys who would wear these would look like a paunchy bottle of old label Canoe.
Dammit, that's the last thing I need. Still, I'll probably stay up half the night trying to justify buying them anyway.
God I miss the Style Council. Got me though an Ohio puberty.
foppish nonsense
I'm 34,30, but I'm pretty sure they lynch people in Hickory NC for wearing trousers like these.
T-
I knew the Lumms in Hickory well when I was a kid.
The Lumms? You're gonna have to elaborate a bit, Tintin. I'm not actually from this neck of the woods. Are they one of the furniture families?
I just realized it's probably some bit of obscura that I'm too stupid to grok.
Well-deserved inclusion of The Style Council. Never got their due on this side of the pond. Grab a copy of "My Ever Changing Moods" (aka "Cafe Bleu")and you will be hooked.
