At least they weren't called "birth control glasses", otherwise a whole bunch of baby boomers wouldn't be here.

My dad had also an army-issue pair, in black. I think he was hip enough to pull it off. Then again, he really didn't have a choice.

Clip-ons look great on them (see first pic in Fathers Day post, below).

No, he was the pure aspect that the hipsters want to be but simply corrupt by trying too hard.

here's a photo of my dad (and me). He's sporting those glasses. He wore them from probably around mid 50's up until around 1970, when he finally switched to contacts. I think this photo was taken around 1968.
