Shoe Partay

  1. Not one of the Sperry deck sneaks in the lot. It is a dock, what are those work-a-day girls shoes doing there? Look: Rubber. White sole. Navy trim. That is Newport, not Pier 69, k?

  2. Blushing- Knew that would get you. Long story - Gulf Foxtrot had a work thang. Horrible yacht. Ugly as all get out. Vulgar with a capital V.

  4. Tincan....very funny post. Glad the revelation that this was a work function related endeavor. Otherwise, I'd begin another round of shit about the Tri-Color Tortelinis!

    Hope y'all are having fun.

  5. Used oysters and used shoes? I need to find shade, I think I'm getting a little...ill.

Someone fetch me a Sapphire G&T with bitters and half a lime, stat!

  9. The shoes look better in funhouse reflection in the brightwork.

Worst offender is at the top left: croc-grain driving mocs.

  10. My first reaction was - in the middle of July - why, oh why, is there so much black on this pier? Tintin, those deck shoes look positively cool on the weathered wood, near the water. Looks like an enjoyable time in Newport.

What's with that plate of leftover oysters? Looks like a yankee tourist's plate in the famed underground (in a condemned building), basement oyster bar in Daytona that our (your mother's) St. Augustine crowd used to go to. Had some good times there. (Floors ankle deep in peanut shells, etc.) All gay countermen shucking hundreds of steamed oysters while goosing each other and telling dirty jokes. I even enjoyed the 40 mile drive home -- avoiding the cop's radar traps.

  12. What kind of craft is that tied to the dock? Looks like one of them new fangled Chris Crafts.
