  1. Looks like a fun event. Have you gone in previous years, Tintin?

  2. Makaga- Are you kidding? I avoid stuff like this like the plague.

  3. haha! Well now I know, Tintin! I had never even heard of a Burns Night before, so thought the idea of a dining event based around a long dead poet to be pretty novel.

  4. Makaga- I did one yrs ago. Far too much single malt and far too many Scotsmen who force wimpy Septics like me to drink more than I should. Consequently, I'm happy to sit at home and suck Scotch Eggs.

  5. Tintin - I have never understood the whole Scottish thing, it almost seems a bit manufactured. The Welsh have their own language (and better poets!) but you dont see them go on and on about how greatit is to be Welsh, perhaps they dont have enough vowels.

  6. I'm a little intrigued by the soup. Mostly this sounds like the kind of event to which a host family would take a Scottish foreign exchange student, then the Scottish foreign exchange student would get very drunk and rip the event apart, make fun of everyone and maybe even get in a fight.

  7. KSB- Not to mention the difference, to this day, between Highlanders and Lowlanders.

Julia- I know a Scottish auctioneer who poured a beer on the head of an English auctioneer. They're still friends although I can't figure out why.
