Happy New Year

It was a busy Christmas. I'm late on everything hence my fall back to Three Kings Day but more about that later. Old New Castle in Delaware is a favorite place of mine. You're certainly not going to stumble upon it driving up I95. There's not much to do around it - - or in it for that matter. It's a little remote and it's very 18th Century which is why I think it's perfect.
This is where I'm going to retire. Or die trying.

  4. Great place. I sat at that very table last July and enjoyed a few of the stronger ales on the menu including, if I recall correctly, a local apple offering. Enjoy the new year.

  8. M. Lane- Man, I hope so. The best to you for 09.

SFTrny- Thanks for stopping by and I'll check out the book store at 310 Delaware.

MME- Thanks for the sock compliment and the best to you and your family for 09.

spinlps-Great place isn't it. That Imperial Stout I had was perfect for the brisk but bright winter's day I was there. Just a few feet from the fire.

Micahel- Thanks for your support and advice. You and a few others have been telling me the same thing about my writing. Maybe I'll wake up and try something.

Longwing- A happy '09 to you sir. Here's to breaking bread with each other before this year is over.

HTJ- The best to you for '09 and you and I have to get with Longstreet for that breaking of bread. Although I've never met you guys I certainly feel we know each other.

  11. My compliments on your taste in new year's venues, Tintin; quiet and comfortable beats noisy and crowded every time.

Best wishes for the new year and for many more blog entries.

  12. Matt, cg and bc-
It amazes me the crowd Times Sq always draws at New Years. I learned a long time ago to avoid the F.P.E. or Free Public Event. When the crowd goes right - -I go left.

  14. Olde Newcastle is a gem, indeed. We had friends who lived there and it was the perfect in-between for the NYC and Baltimore/DC crowds to meet up.
