18milesperhour- I was 18 in 1975 and clearly remember playing tennis in that 'era.' Maybe this was just my crowd, but Tretorn was popular with women.
I don't remember men wearing Tretorn at all. Mostly Stan Smith Adidas and Wilson Pro Staff.
In the '80s, Diadora and Le Coq were popular. I didn't eat for one week 'cause I was broke over a pr of Le Coq Sportif. If it helps, I don't consider myself a db but I am an asshole and assholes loved Le Coq.

There are a lot of assholes that still love Le Coq. They constitute the majority of the menswear industry.
