This is most cool. Can't wait. John Tinseth, editor. I LIKE it! A role that suits you well. And a wellspring of knowledge you have, too. Love the bio/blurb they give you in Amazon. Congratulations!
And thus, the 2/14 teaser is revealed. This is great news. Had a feeling something like this was in the works given your relationship with Robert Bryan. Might even pay full price!
Tres tres cool, tres tres chic. Well done old boy. I hope you post a few more details how and why this all came about. Most importantly, will it enhance welcome attentions from ze ladies?
Yes, 2/14 was the date I thought I could announce. But it was not to be. That bothers me more than anyone will ever know -- but I suppose better late than never.
Did your Dad know? I hope so. Sending my warmest congratulations to you...funny, I sort of saw something like this happening for you. Well done! If you have a book launch party I'll take the train into town. ~M.
Color me thrilled! I was an M subscriber back in the day and was terribly disappointed when its run came to an end; especially since M's demise fell hard on the heels of Lee Eisenberg's departure from Esquire (U.S.).
I will most certainly be purchasing this book and eagerly await its arrival. Congratulations, and well done!
Correction to above comment: Eisenberg left Esky in November '90, so his departure fell hard on the heels of M's demise. In any event, the early 90's were dark days for civilized gents' periodicals. It will be great to reach back to better times with the release of this book.
I am late to the game, but thank you for making this happen. My dad got me reading this in my in high school. I was gutted when they stop publishing. I had every issue until the basement flooded or so my mom said (think she just threw them out). Cannot wait to buy this. Thank you
John Tinseth, paragon of civility. I like it.
ReplyDeleteCongrats! Can't wait to get my hands on one.
ReplyDeleteCongrats Tin Tin! I'm ordering a copy now.

Great to see something like this came together.
ReplyDeleteHopefully some nice Robert Bryan pieces in there?
Looking forward to buying a copy.

Congratulations. Hopefully the first of many. Would love to see a book of Tinseth original stories even.
ReplyDeleteExcellent!
ReplyDeleteTwo thumbs up!
ReplyDeleteWhat Allan said.

(Hint: Yes!)

ReplyDeleteGood for you - I will start preparing to relive the '80s. Wish it could be kitted with a mixed-tape.

I was a subscriber from the very beginning to the very end. I wish someone would revive it.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! Well deserved.
ReplyDeleteI second the book party suggestion. All in favor?

ReplyDeleteThe highly estimable Yale H. forwarded me this link, as he was sure it would -- as it, in fact, did -- afford me immense pleasure.
ReplyDelete"M" is the only magazine for which I have EVERY issue and I guard it like a favorite child.
Colossal kudos, cannot wait to get my hands on a copy.
