In the gigantic, everything's available, shopping mall that is America -- it's refreshing to find something limited to a specific region. How odd that it's usually beer? I haven't had a Natty Boh since college but was surprised how good (and cheap) it still is. It's enough to drive a man to Baltimore.
And if today's crowds and traffic get you down -- consider this. In Cuba they celebrate their labor day (May 1st) by working. ¡Coño!

ReplyDeleteI've been on tap with Natty Boh since my Baltimore born and raised in-laws introduced me years ago. But my father-in-law takes it farther than you or I ever would: He drinks it straight from the can...warm.

I don't think prices have changed too much since 1982. I remember getting 12 packs in college for only $5.99, and that was only 6 years ago!

ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed the beer. Natty Boh beer, and the Mr. Boh logo, are still icons in Maryland (aka, The Land of Pleasant Living). Like everything else being outsourced, they had to remove the tag line "brewed on the shores of the Chesapeak Bay" when Heilman or someone else started brewing it. It is a surprisingly drinkable cheap beer. Now we need to get you some Pikesville Rye and a few blue crabs.
