Last Days of Disco Soundtrack

The way I look at it -- it's a tape player that comes with a car. Have a great weekend. Click here for the Love Train.

  4. True Disco can only be played on an eight track. That and Boxcar Willy

  7. where have you gone, whit stillman? i'll tell you where: "damsels in distress" to be released in fall of 2011. 13 years too long for my tastes.

barcelona is still my favorite stillman film.

  8. Two hot actresses, no doubt, who went on to bigger things. But the intriguing Metropolitan is better - youth who can actually speak English! Also better, the enigmatic Barcelona. All the more so for myself, having traveled there.

  9. Funny, if you lived the tail end of the 70's, and studied abroad in Spain or Italy or Greece for a year or two, the girls seem just that much prettier...

Great movies, and you're right the car's just an extra!

  10. A superlative collection of non-cringe-inducing disco. I don't think that any of the "good disco" is missing from this album, other than Vicky Sue Robinson's "Turn the Beat Around".

Also, the fact that Whit Stillman stopped making movies after his "trilogy" is both a shame and a stroke of genius.

I'm going to go listen to copy of this disc tonite (it never plays before sundown).

  11. Chloe Sevigny has never looked better than in this movie and in my mind has been going down hill ever since, Kate Beckinsale's stock, on the other hand, has been rising ever since.

  12. "To thine own self be true. But what if thine own self is a real s****?"

I hope the new movie lives up to his trilogy. Brilliant. (And that from a guy who once wore a "Death Before Disco" button.)
