Well, as a member of a tribe more known for pastrami on rye then, say, rock and rye, I was dreading a comment of the sort posted by Anon above. Tintin, I appreciate your response. Handled with the class you always show here. Now, off to killing a few more of those "intelligent" brain cells with my Dark and Stormy (yes, yes I have a calendar but it was above 65 degrees in NYC today!)
Tintin, I would be happy to buy a pair of 300 dollar shoes made in the US. I read labels, buy less, pay more, when and where I can. It should hurt a little in the pocketbook when we consume. I know it makes me a more thoughtful consumer. We have to start thinking of our domestic workforce as an asset as opposed to a liability or we will all be out of jobs. I am hopping down off my soapbox now. D
Ox Ak Uk - It was balmy yesterday - - what are using for ginger beer if you don't mind my asking?
D- There's some insanely priced "US" goods out there but there's good value as well. It just takes effort to find it. I'll tell you - - things keep going the way they are and I'm gonna go commie.
Tintin, Tell me about it. I just spent 139 dollars for a set of cotton pjs not including tax. Made in the USA but definitely leaning towards granny chic. Are granny pjs the female equivalent to the male bow tie? D
Ox- I was getting Barrits in the Bronx. Rather dodgy neighborhood but I'll rsik life and limb for the canned stuff. $13 for shipping doesn't seem too bad but I remain hopeful they'll get their distribution back here in NYC.
In the mean time it got cold. Time to break out the heavy sweaters and the heavy drinks.
Tintin, It's not supposed to be sexy and believe me, they are not sexy. Bow ties are, and I know you HATE this word, cute. Granny pjs are cute. You will never find a La Perla label in a set of granny pjs. D
And I always thought "schmatta" was a reference to their intellectual superiority!
ReplyDeleteAnon- Compared to yours it probably is.

ReplyDeleteTintin - The genuine article, Barritts. I order it from beveragesdirect.com.

I think those Saltzburg flannel pjs can be a real turn on. I also think Doris Day is hot so consider the source.
