You have to wonder why photographers always made babies do pushups in the 1950's. I assume this is the 50's BTW. Girls didn't have to wear bow ties, we had puffed sleeves and smocked dresses. I, however, rarely am seen in puffed sleeves OR smocking. These days.
Tin-tin's phred/dad says: Looks like you. Looks like me. At same age. Speaks for stable, if not necessarily great, genes. Only thing is, I'd never have worn a bow tie.
Tin-tin's phred/dad said You may have seen photo of me wearing bow tie at an "official" function in my dress blue uniform. At such functions, as soon as the "official" part was over, I went to my car, tossed clip-on bow tie on dash and put on a four-in-hand (always with Windsor knot). Then reenter the club, return to the by then less formal function, or, most often, join our clique of fellow officer 'dissidents'So at informal bar where we'd loosen tie, undo top shirt button, undo coat buttons and lounge around with hands in pockets. Wives and GFs (especially GFs) welcome. So much for bow ties. I've always thought ascots better.

This reminded me of the lines from "Barefoot in the Park":
Jane Fonda: "Before last night, I thought you slept with a tie."
Robert Redford: "No, just for very formal sleeps."
How long have you been drinking Bushmills?

Speaking of "Barefoot in the Park", it looks like Redford preferred BB ties:

tintin, It looks like your dad got you started on push ups at an early age.
ADG- I couldn't count or talk either. I still can't count but I can tie a bow tie
Dad, I know I've seen a pic of you somewhere wearing a bow tie. And thanks for the genes.
Longwing- That's known in the Army as the Front Leaning Rest Position. I may have to change the title.
I need to let this post go...I know....but I'm thiking there's some Louis Farrakhan in that pre-tied thing.
Wonderful!
I wonder how early I started showing an interest in shoes....
